Goodbyes and Farewells

As a cliche goes, saying goodbye is the hardest thing to do.

When everyone else were celebrating the happiest day of their love life, we woke up and started our Sunday with tears in our eyes. Gucci, our two-month-old Shih Tzu, bid farewell to us just last Saturday, 12 midnight.

For two days, he was severely vomiting and often, his waste comes with blood. And so, we took him to the local veterinarian, who then diagnosed him with Canine Parvovirus.

Canine what?!

Canine Parvovirus, according to my research, or CPV is the most common viral disease for dogs especially to new born puppies. Usual symptoms are, as what Gucci had, severe vomiting and severe hemorrhagic diarrhea.

For puppies, since they have a very weak immune system, CPV causes respiratory and/or cardiovascular failure - slowly killing them.

Just like Gucci.

* * *

For two weeks, Gucci brought smiles and laughter to us - his cute antics, his fancy growl, and his awakening lick. I would never forget the memories we had together, as I said, even just for two weeks - how blissful they were.

Time may pass and another puppy may replace Gucci, but in our hearts, he will forever remain.

To Gucci, thank you for the so little time you spent with us - thank you for making us the happiest parents in that short span of time. We will surely miss the games you play with Mocha, the growl you produce, the lick every morning, those brown ears, the running around with Pork Chop, everything.

Say hi to Lordy for me, okay?

I love you so much. We love you so much.
